Cognizant Trained 30,000 Staff on Claude AI — If You Work in PH BPO or IT Services, Read This

Cognizant goes all-in on Claude — and it affects PH workers

On July 27, Anthropic announced that Cognizant has become a Global Premier Partner in its Claude Partner Network. Over 30,000 Cognizant associates worldwide have already completed Claude AI training — and the company is embedding Claude directly into the platforms it uses to serve enterprise clients globally.

Cognizant has a significant delivery footprint in the Philippines. When the parent company retools its core platforms around AI, that change reaches every delivery center — including those in Metro Manila and Cebu.

Exactly what Claude is being used for

Cognizant is not just experimenting. Three documented live use cases show where AI is already doing real work:

  • Contract review — A contract intelligence system cuts review time by up to 40%, with 88%+ extraction accuracy. Legal, compliance, and back-office teams work faster with fewer errors.
  • Customer portal development — Building a full enterprise customer portal in six months — work that used to take 18 to 24 months. Software engineers and project delivery teams feel this directly.
  • Risk and underwriting research — A research tool that saves approximately eight hours per person per week. One full workday returned to every underwriter who uses it.

What this means for IT and BPO workers in the Philippines

This is not a scare headline. It is a skill signal. Here is how to read it:

The work is not disappearing — it is being reconfigured. A contract reviewer who knows how to validate AI output is more valuable because they now handle volume that used to require a team. An engineer who knows how to use Claude Code inside a spec-driven development workflow ships faster than one who does not.

Knowing how to work with Claude is becoming a hiring requirement at major IT employers — not an optional bonus. Cognizant's 30,000 trained associates are the proof.

What to do this week

  • Go to claude.ai and try it on one real work task — summarize a client brief, draft a status report, or review a contract clause.
  • Ask your team lead or HR whether your company has an AI training program. If not, make the ask. The companies that are growing are already doing this.
  • Check if your employer is a Cognizant client or Anthropic partner — the Claude tooling may already be coming to your team's workflows sooner than you think.
