Privacy Policy
Last updated September 2026. This is a starting draft — please have it reviewed by counsel before relying on it as a final policy.
Who we are
AI Alerts is operated by YGG Pilipinas. This policy explains what we collect when you use AI Alerts (news, tools, jobs, and the weekly brief), and how we use it.
What we collect
- Newsletter — your email address, when you subscribe to the weekly brief.
- Account — your email and name, if you create an account. Authentication is handled by Supabase.
- Preferences — the interests you pick to personalize your feed.
- Career profile — details you choose to add (headline, skills, work history, education, links, job-hunt status, languages, and optionally your city, phone number, and salary expectation). You control all of it and can edit or clear it any time.
- Résumé file — if you upload a PDF, we keep a private copy so you do not have to re-upload for campaigns or staff review. You can delete it from your career profile. Word/text files used to fill the form are not stored unless they are a PDF.
- Usage — basic, aggregated analytics (such as pages viewed) to understand what content lands. We do not build advertising profiles.
How we use it
- To send you the weekly brief (only if you subscribed).
- To run your account and tailor your "For you" feed.
- To power your public proof-of-work card, your resume export, and to match you with relevant roles.
- To improve AI Alerts.
Your career profile, public page, and talent pools
Your career profile exists to get you hired. Parts of it are shown under your control:
- Public profile— your page (aialerts.xyz/u/your-handle) shows your headline, skills, work history, education, and links while "Show my career details on my public profile" is on in Settings (it is on by default). Turn it off and the page shows only achievements earned on AI Alerts. Your job-hunt status is not shown there unless you separately choose to show it.
- Talent pools — a separate toggle, off until you say yes. When it is on, AI Alerts staff can find you when an employer asks for people with a kind of experience (for example, marketing). Which pool you land in is computed from your profile, not from articles you like. You can veto a pool. Employer search of these pools is not available yet.
- Applying — when you apply to a role on AI Alerts, a copy of your career profile and earned achievements at that moment is attached to your application. Matching uses the profile, not the PDF.
- Always private— your phone number, salary expectation, email, and original résumé file are never shown on your public page or in the application snapshot. Admins on the AI Alerts team may open the stored PDF to help with hiring support. Partners receive your profile, not the file, unless that campaign's consent said otherwise.
Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with service providers that help us run AI Alerts (for example, Supabase for database and authentication, and an email provider for the newsletter), under their respective terms. Some listings link out to third-party sites (jobs, tools); their own privacy practices apply once you leave AI Alerts.
Analytics
We use first-party, privacy-respecting analytics to understand which content lands. We set an anonymous identifier cookie to count visits and distinguish sessions — it carries no name, email, or other personal details, and we do not sell or share this data for advertising. For signed-in members, on-site activity — such as pages viewed, items clicked, and searches — is associated with your account so our team can understand and improve the experience; this is visible only to our staff in the admin. For security and to prevent abuse such as spam, bots, and duplicate accounts, we also record the IP address tied to these events; it is restricted to staff, never used for advertising, and erased when you delete your account. We honor the "Do Not Track" browser setting: when it is on, we do not record these analytics events. We also use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to measure aggregate traffic.
When we run advertising, we additionally use advertising cookies and pixels (such as the Meta Pixel) to measure whether our ads work — for example, that a sign-up came from an ad. You can turn these off for your device with the button below, and we also honor the "Do Not Track" browser setting. Opting out never affects what you can do on AI Alerts.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time via the link in any email.
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing us. You can delete a stored résumé from your career profile.
Security & retention
Data is stored with row-level security and kept only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your data.
