AI Engineer — FFG AI Fellowship (Part-Time, Founding Cohort)
About the role
Foundry for Good is building its in-house AI engineering team in the Philippines with a founding cohort fellowship — 10–15 hours/week over 12 weeks, starting July 2026. This is a fellowship for experienced engineers who already build with LLMs and agents in production and currently lead or mentor engineers. You'll build real production AI systems from week one across FFG's portfolio of mission-driven brands (nonprofits, education, healthcare, associations), set the AI stack and standards, and coach non-technical teams to work AI-native. Standouts finish with full-time AI leadership offers.
What you'll do
- Build and ship AI-powered solutions targeting real social impact use cases — education, health, economic inclusion
- Work alongside experienced engineers and researchers in a part-time fellowship structured for professional growth
- Contribute to the inaugural cohort shaping the engineering culture and technical direction of Foundry for Good
- Gain hands-on experience with applied AI/ML systems, LLM integrations, and responsible AI deployment
Requirements
- Currently building with LLMs and agents in production — not just in demos or side projects
- Track record of shipping and owning real production systems including their reliability, cost, and quality
- Currently leading or mentoring engineers in a strong technical environment
- Experience standing up AI tooling or an AI function inside a company (nice to have)
- Strong academic background from a top university; work in mission-driven sectors (nonprofit, education, healthcare) is a plus
