Analytical Chemistry Specialist — Freelance AI Trainer Project
About the role
Meridial (powered by Invisible Technologies) is seeking analytical chemistry experts worldwide to train AI on chemical analysis science. You’ll challenge advanced AI models on spectroscopy, chromatography, electrochemical analysis, quantitative chemical analysis, environmental testing, pharmaceutical analysis, and analytical method development — topics like mass spectrometry, HPLC/GC technique optimization, NMR interpretation, method validation, trace analysis, and QA/QC protocol design. Remote, worldwide, $8–$65/hr.
What you'll do
- Challenge AI models on spectroscopy, chromatography, electrochemical analysis, quantitative analysis, pharmaceutical analysis, and analytical method development; verify factual accuracy and logical soundness
- Document AI failure modes in analytical chemistry reasoning: mass spectrometry, HPLC/GC optimization, NMR interpretation, method validation, trace analysis, titrimetric methods, and QA/QC protocol design
- Capture reproducible error traces and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics for analytical chemistry AI tasks
- Articulate analytical chemistry reasoning metacognitively — show your work, explain methodological choices, and document failure patterns in a precise, structured format
Requirements
- Deep expertise in analytical chemistry; a PhD in analytical chemistry or closely related chemical science field is ideal
- Peer-reviewed publications, lab-based method development, regulatory testing, or instrumentation-intensive research (mass spectrometry, HPLC, GC, NMR) signal strong fit
- Clear, metacognitive communication — ability to explain analytical chemistry reasoning step-by-step; experience in AI evaluation or scientific annotation is a plus
