VP Engineering and R&D - AI Startup
About the role
C-Plan.IT is hiring a VP of Engineering and R&D to lead research and product engineering for an AI Digital Assistant that helps mid-market organizations measure and maximize value from IT investments. The team is fully remote and says it hires regardless of location.
What you'll do
- Execute core research in AI knowledge management that leads to patentable technologies
- Serve as a thought leader and technology strategy driver with the CEO and co-founders on product architecture
- Write code in the early days, from core platform work to bug fixes
- Hire and lead software engineers, data scientists, and product designers
- Lead R&D of proprietary AI intellectual property and stay current on digital assistants, knowledge engineering, and expert systems
Requirements
- Master or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Statistics, Operations Research, or another equivalent quantitative field
- Experience in AI with a demonstrated understanding of expert systems, knowledge management, and digital assistants
- Experience managing a team of data scientists and AI researchers and engineers using Agile methodologies
- Previous startup experience leading teams that drive innovation and deliver products
