AI Platform Engineer Manager

About the role

AI platform, enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing GenAI solutions across global markets at JTI GBS Manila. This role combines deep technical expertise with strategic leadership to drive LLMOps, AI governance, and platform innovation.

What you'll do

• Define engineering standards for secure AI consumption, RAG pipelines, and agentic frameworks while optimizing inference performance, cost efficiency, and model reliability.
• Design scalable and secure AI infrastructure leveraging Azure OpenAI, API Management, AI Search, and Databricks aligned with enterprise architecture and security standards.
• Build and maintain automated pipelines for infrastructure, model configurations, and deployment processes using IaC (Terraform/Bicep) and scripting.
• Architect pipelines for data ingestion, embedding strategies, and vector search optimization to support high-quality AI outputs.
• Implement advanced monitoring for token usage, latency, error rates, and cost metrics.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience as Data Engineer; technical lead experience is highly preferred.
• At least 2-3 years' experience with AI platforms is required.
• Hands-on experience in Azure infrastructure for data services in enterprise environments.
• Proven experience working with Azure OpenAI, AI Search, AI Foundry, and RAG architectures.
• Deep understanding of LLMs, inference optimization, agentic frameworks, and vector search strategies.
• Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, or Bash).
