Organic & Inorganic Chemistry Specialist — Freelance AI Trainer Project
About the role
Meridial (powered by Invisible Technologies) is seeking organic and inorganic chemistry experts in the Philippines to train AI on chemical science. You’ll challenge advanced AI models on reaction mechanisms, coordination chemistry, stereoselective synthesis, catalysis, main group chemistry, ligand design, redox chemistry, crystal field theory, and spectroscopy — topics like organometallic complexes, cross-coupling reactions, synthetic pathways, NMR/IR spectral interpretation, and coordination compound characterization. Remote from the Philippines, $8–$65/hr.
What you'll do
- Challenge AI models on reaction mechanisms, coordination chemistry, stereoselective synthesis, catalysis, ligand design, redox chemistry, and crystal field theory; verify factual accuracy and logical soundness
- Document AI failure modes in organic/inorganic chemistry reasoning: organometallic complexes, cross-coupling reactions, synthetic pathways, metal-ligand interactions, supramolecular assembly, NMR/IR interpretation
- Capture reproducible error traces and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics for chemistry AI tasks
- Articulate chemistry reasoning metacognitively — show your work, explain synthetic and analytical choices, and document error patterns in a structured format
Requirements
- Deep expertise in organic and/or inorganic chemistry; a PhD in chemistry or closely related physical science field is ideal
- Peer-reviewed publications, laboratory synthesis and analysis experience, or applied chemical design projects signal strong fit
- Clear, metacognitive communication — ability to explain complex chemistry reasoning step-by-step; experience in AI evaluation or laboratory annotation is a plus
