Project Manager - AI & Data Science Projects
About the role
Thinking Machines is hiring a Project Manager in Taguig to oversee timely delivery of AI and data science projects for some of Southeast Asia's largest organizations. You will be the main client point of contact, managing schedules, backlogs, and cross-functional teams while keeping complex AI projects on track through changing requirements and tight timelines.
What you'll do
- Serve as the main point of contact for clients — communicating milestones, blockers, and changes clearly at every level of seniority.
- Own the project schedule, requirements backlog, and task list; break down large, ambiguous requests into actionable work for data science and engineering teams.
- Establish workflows for each project team, document best practices, and continuously remove blockers to keep teams at maximum efficiency.
- Manage stakeholder relationships across both internal teams and client organizations, including periodic on-site client meetings in Metro Manila.
- Keep the team motivated and avoid burnout while maintaining the delivery quality Thinking Machines clients expect.
Requirements
- 3+ years of project management experience with successfully shipped technology, software, or data science projects.
- Strong external communication skills — comfortable delivering difficult updates to C-suite and technical stakeholders.
- Adaptability and tolerance for ambiguity in fast-moving AI/data consulting engagements.
- Quick learning ability and strong initiative — able to research and fill knowledge gaps independently.
- Metro Manila-based and willing to accommodate periodic in-person client meetings.
- Nice to have: Agile methodology experience or product design background.
