Lead Developer, SharePoint & AI Search

About the role

Lead developer contract with Tribe Gen AI to build a SharePoint intranet whose search answers from documents the signed-in user is allowed to open, using Microsoft Graph and Claude.

What you'll do

• Build the AI search backend in Python 3.12 Azure Functions calling Microsoft Graph on behalf of the signed-in user.
• Extract, chunk, and cache Word and PDF content and answer through the Anthropic API with citations and refusals.
• Build an evaluation set against agreed launch questions and tune retrieval and prompts.
• Add question logging with redaction, Application Insights dashboards, and a monthly usage report.
• Build the SharePoint intranet side, including communication sites, theming, news, audiences, and permissions.

Requirements

• SPFx in React and TypeScript.
• Experience working in a client tenant through their IT provider.
• At least 4 hours a day of overlap with Sydney time (AEDT).
• Clear written English. The client asks you to quote an hourly rate. This is one individual contractor, not an agency team.
