Full Stack Developer AI Trainer (JavaScript and TypeScript)
About the role
Developers with strong JavaScript or TypeScript experience can help train AI by writing code, evaluating model answers and explaining their reasoning. It is remote contract work for US companies, starting with a 1 month assignment, with 20, 30 or 40 hours a week and about 4 hours of overlap with Pacific time. What you'll do
- Write and review clean, maintainable JavaScript and TypeScript code to help train and optimize AI models
- Run evaluations that benchmark model performance and analyze the results
- Rank AI responses to user queries across many topics and explain your reasoning clearly
- Help build and maintain task specific datasets for supervised fine tuning
- Work with researchers and annotators on reinforcement learning with human feedback and reward models
- Review code and documentation from peers and give constructive feedback
Requirements
- Extensive experience with JavaScript or TypeScript, including a solid grasp of ES6 and Node.js, React, Nest, Angular or Vue
- Experience building web apps with modular design and scalable architecture, with a focus on readability, security and testing
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or Computer Science, or equivalent experience
- Excellent spoken and written English
- Availability of at least 20 hours a week, with 4 hours of overlap with Pacific time
- Nice to have: Docker, plus software QA and test planning experience
- Selection: two interview rounds, about 75 minutes in total, a technical round and a cultural and offer round
