3D Modeling & Python Specialist – Freelance AI Trainer
About the role
Meridial is sourcing freelance 3D Modeling and Python Specialists to produce AI training data for a specialized 3D asset collection project. You will write Blender Python (bpy) and/or Three.js scripts to procedurally generate collision-accurate 3D meshes from 2D reference images, produce structured JSON/JS outputs representing mesh geometry, and maintain trajectory logs capturing sequential build actions to train AI systems on geometric construction and spatial reasoning.
What you'll do
- Write Blender Python (bpy) or Three.js code to procedurally generate 3D geometry using primitives and Boolean operations (union, subtraction, extrusion)
- Produce collision-accurate 3D meshes from 2D reference images (masked + RGB) and export assets in .obj, .glb, or similar formats
- Generate structured JSON/JS programmatic outputs and maintain meticulous trajectory logs capturing sequential build steps for reproducibility
- Audit all deliverables against strict quality checklists and maintain precise file naming conventions for high-volume annotation workflows
Requirements
- Demonstrated proficiency in Blender Python scripting (bpy) and/or Three.js/JavaScript — GUI-only modeling experience does not qualify
- Deep understanding of geometric primitives (cubes, spheres, cylinders, cones) and Boolean operations with a focus on low-poly construction
- Proven experience creating collision-accurate 3D meshes from 2D reference images
- High attention to detail with discipline to maintain trajectory logs, follow naming conventions, and self-audit work
- Preferred: background in game asset creation, familiarity with screen recording/keylogging tools, or prior AI/ML data annotation experience
