AI Backend Engineer

About the role

Own backends for custom AI software: APIs, RAG, structured extraction, agents, and evaluation for Dutch clients on Azure.

What you'll do

• Build backends: APIs and integrations for client projects and the products maintained under SLA
• Put LLMs in production: RAG, structured extraction, agents and evaluation
• Take over existing code: stabilize inherited codebases and document them
• Work across up to 3 projects and 3 maintenance contracts at the same time

Requirements

• 3+ years of backend experience in Python or TypeScript / Node
• Solid knowledge of databases (PostgreSQL), APIs and cloud platforms (Azure or AWS)
• Experience building with LLM APIs (Anthropic, OpenAI or Azure OpenAI)
• Excellent English communication, especially written
