AI / Quant Trading Systems Developer – Python, AI Agents & Swing Trading
About the role
Contract Python/AI developer to architect a private AI investment research and swing-trading command center — scanners, event detection, backtesting, and paper trading. The posting is explicit this is not a VA seat, not prompt-only work, and not a live-money trading bot.
What you'll do
- Architect and build a private AI-powered investment research, swing-trading, event-detection, portfolio, backtesting, and risk-management platform
- Build a swing-trading scanner that ranks setups rather than dumping hundreds of alerts
- Build an event/catalyst detection engine for news, filings, earnings, FDA, M&A, and related market-moving events
- Focus initially on research, scanning, backtesting, paper trading, risk management, and decision support — not live trading
- Integrate market-data APIs, databases, automation, and LLM/AI components with human-approval risk controls
Requirements
- Actual software developer, strong with Python, APIs, and databases
- Familiar with financial markets and systematic or algorithmic trading concepts
- Familiar with LLM/AI integration and able to prevent an LLM from hallucinating prices or position sizes
- Security-conscious about storing API/broker credentials
- Must begin the application with the exact words EVENT ENGINE and answer the posted technical questions with specific examples of your own work
