Remote Immigration Paralegal for Boutique Law Firm

About the role

As an Immigration Paralegal, you'll build and maintain digital case files, draft USCIS forms and exhibit lists, input and track case data across cloud-based platforms, and coordinate client communications by email and video call. You'll join scheduled attorney calls to take notes and surface case details in real time, and support petition assembly under attorney direction.

What you'll do

  • Case File Management: Build, maintain, organize, and update digital/physical client files and case data across SharePoint, Salesforce, and Docketwise.
  • Immigration Form & Document Preparation: Draft basic USCIS forms, exhibit lists, filing notices, and supporting documents under attorney/senior paralegal supervision.
  • Client Communication & Coordination: Manage document requests, reminders, receipt confirmations, case-status updates, scheduling, and non-legal client inquiries; escalate legal matters to attorneys.
  • Attorney & Case Support: Join attorney-client calls, take notes, identify relevant case information, and support petition assembly.
  • Technology & Process Management: Work proficiently with Microsoft 365, Teams, Adobe, Salesforce, Docketwise, SharePoint, and AI tools such as Claude and Perplexity.
  • Continuous Learning & Compliance: Stay current on immigration law, visa categories, USCIS policy updates, firm training requirements, and evolving case-management platforms.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of administrative, operations, legal support, or office experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Excel, Word) and Adobe Acrobat for document preparation and handling
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-based CRM and document management platforms (e.g., Salesforce, SharePoint, or comparable)
  • Experience preparing, organizing, and reviewing documents for completeness and accuracy before submission
  • Experience coordinating client communication through email and video calls (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams)
  • B2+ English (CEFR) for direct, client-facing written and verbal communication
