About the role

TELUS Digital is hiring an English linguist in the Philippines to evaluate speech AI: how natural the voices sound, how accurate speech recognition is, and whether the training data is linguistically sound.

What you'll do

• Analyze AI-generated speech for naturalness, pronunciation, prosody, intonation, and emotional register.
• Identify transcription, phonological, and morphological errors in speech recognition output.
• Evaluate grammar, semantics, pragmatics, and discourse in speech output.
• Document dialect and accent variation so training data stays linguistically sound.
• Write structured linguistic feedback for model improvement.

Requirements

• English linguistic expertise applied to speech AI, including phonetics and dialect variation.
• Able to evaluate TTS and ASR output and give structured feedback.
• Listed for the Philippines on TELUS Digital's AI community.
