Remote Data Scientist and Software Developer
About the role
Live Oak Financial is seeking a Data Scientist and Software Developer to modernize data, reporting, automation, and systems infrastructure. This remote contractor role combines data science, data engineering, software development, and systems integration.
What you'll do
- Build reliable data pipelines and develop analytical and predictive models.
- Automate operational processes and integrate third-party platforms.
- Analyze payment, account, customer, campaign, and collector-performance data.
- Develop statistical and predictive models for payment probability and account prioritization.
- Create model documentation, validation procedures, and performance monitoring.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, data science, statistics, mathematics, engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least three years of relevant experience in data science, software development, data engineering, or business intelligence.
- Advanced proficiency in Python and strong SQL and relational database skills.
- Working knowledge of statistical modeling, machine learning, forecasting, and model evaluation.
- Clear written and spoken English and availability during U.S. Eastern Time.
