MCP Software Engineering AI Training Expert
About the role
OpenTrain AI is hiring an MCP Software Engineering AI Training Expert to build MCP-powered reinforcement learning environments that test how AI coding agents solve real-world software engineering problems. This flexible, worldwide remote contractor role pays $60–$120/hour and explicitly does not require prior AI-training experience — the core qualification is hands-on software engineering skill.
What you'll do
- Design RL environments that test AI agents' use of Model Context Protocol (MCP) tools.
- Fix bugs, implement features, refactor code, and optimize performance in agent-facing tasks.
- Build deterministic verification systems and golden reference solutions.
- Submit completed evaluation tasks against project specifications on a recurring, flexible schedule.
Requirements
- Proficiency in at least one of C++, Python, Java, GoLang, TypeScript, or Rust.
- Deep understanding of algorithms, data structures, and performance tuning.
- Demonstrated ability to debug complex software and refactor codebases.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with close attention to detail.
- No previous AI-training experience required.
