BI, Automations & AI Solutions Manager
About the role
We are seeking a BI, Automations & AI Solutions Manager to lead a versatile team of specialists spanning data visualization, N8N workflow automations, AI prompt engineering, low-code development, and cloud data architecture. In this role, you will manage daily delivery and direct report growth—including overseeing a Data Engineer building out our GCP BigQuery Medallion Lakehouse—while acting as the primary execution partner to our AI Strategy & Innovation Lead to transform strategic roadmaps into reliable, production-ready solutions. Ideal candidates bring experience across technology, data, or BI with a player-coach mindset, strong cross-functional communication skills, and a proven ability to balance complex strategic initiatives alongside business-as-usual reporting and automation needs.
What you'll do

- Act as the escalation point for technical blockers and cross-team dependencies
- Solution Delivery & Oversight
- Oversee the design, development, and delivery of dashboards and reports in Looker Studio and Power BI for internal and client-facing stakeholders
- Guide the team's use of N8N for building and maintaining workflow automations across business systems
- Supervise AI prompt engineering initiatives, ensuring solutions are effective, reliable, and aligned with business needs
- Direct the development of internal tools using Google AppScript, Google AppSheet, and lightweight ("vibe-coded") web applications
- Provide technical guidance on AI solutions such as LightRAG and similar retrieval-augmented generation or AI infrastructure projects
- Ensure the Data Engineer's work on the Medallion Architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) in Google Cloud Platform (BigQuery and related services) meets data quality, governance, and business reporting requirements
- Partnership with AI Strategy & Innovation Lead
- Serve as the primary technical delivery partner for the AI Strategy & Innovation Lead, translating their strategic AI roadmap and use cases into scoped, actionable work for the team
- Assess feasibility, effort, and sequencing of proposed AI initiatives, providing realistic delivery timelines and technical constraints back to the AI Strategy & Innovation Lead
- Ensure the team has the right skills, tools, and capacity to execute on approved AI initiatives without compromising ongoing BI, automation, and data engineering commitments
- Maintain a shared intake and prioritization process with the AI Strategy & Innovation Lead to balance strategic AI projects against business-as-usual reporting and automation needs
- Provide regular status updates, technical feasibility input, and delivery risk visibility to the AI Strategy & Innovation Lead throughout project execution
- Escalate resourcing conflicts or competing priorities between AI initiatives and other team responsibilities to the VP of Technology as needed
- Cross-Functional & Strategic
- Translate business requirements from stakeholders into clear technical specifications for the team
- Partner with other technology and business leaders to identify opportunities for automation, AI enablement, and improved reporting
- Maintain visibility into project timelines and proactively communicate status, risks, and blockers upward
- Establish and enforce best practices, documentation standards, and quality checks across the team's outputs
- Support data governance and access control practices in coordination with the broader Technology organization
Requirements
- At least 4 years of total professional work experience in technology, data, BI, or AI field.
- Demonstrated experience working with or overseeing at least several of the following: BI/dashboarding tools (Looker Studio, Power BI), workflow automation platforms (N8N or similar), AI prompt engineering, Google Workspace development (AppScript, AppSheet), lightweight web app development, and modern data architecture concepts (Medallion Architecture, Lakehouses, Data Warehouses)
- Strong people management skills: coaching, delegation, performance feedback, and conflict resolution
- Solid technical fluency across BI, automation, and AI tooling — enough to guide, review, and unblock specialist work without necessarily being the deepest technical expert in every tool
- Ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders and vice versa
- Strong project management and prioritization skills, comfortable managing multiple concurrent workstreams, including balancing strategic initiatives against business-as-usual work
- Analytical mindset with attention to data quality and reporting accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with a peer/partner role that sets strategic direction without direct authority over the team
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, evolving environment where tools and processes are still being standardized
