Free Anthropic Tool Now Tells You Exactly How AI Is Changing Your Job: A Guide for PH Workers

Anthropic just released a free tool that gives a more concrete, data-grounded answer: the Anthropic Economic Index Connector.

What It Is and How It Works

The connector links Claude directly to the Anthropic Economic Index — a dataset built from real Claude usage patterns across the economy. Not analyst projections. Not survey responses. Actual tasks that people are assigning to AI right now.

You access it through claude.ai via the Connectors menu — no installation, no extra cost. Free accounts can use it.

What You Can Actually Ask

The power is in the specificity. Instead of “how will AI affect jobs?”, you can ask:

• “Which tasks in a marketing coordinator role are most commonly handled by AI right now?”
• “What accounting tasks are AI users relying on Claude for — and which are still human-led?”
• “How has AI usage in customer service changed over the last 12 months?”

Answers come grounded in Index data, not general advice. You can also access the underlying datasets directly on Anthropic’s site for deeper research.

Why This Is Useful for Filipino Workers Specifically

Most AI displacement discussions use global averages. Your role in a BPO in Makati, a content team in BGC, or a finance department in Cebu has a specific task mix — and global averages do not capture that.

The Economic Index lets you ask about your specific function and see where AI is already deployed in roles like yours. That tells you which skills to protect, which tasks to automate before someone else does, and where the gaps still exist that humans are filling.

How to Try It in the Next 15 Minutes

1. Open claude.ai and sign in (free account works).
2. Click the Connectors icon and enable Anthropic Economic Index.
3. Type: “Based on the Economic Index, what tasks in [your job title] are most commonly handled by AI today, and what gaps remain for human workers?”
4. Use the answer to prioritize what to upskill this quarter — and what to stop doing manually.

Honest caveat: The Index tracks Claude usage, so it underrepresents how ChatGPT, Gemini, and Copilot are affecting your field. The picture is partial. Use it as a starting point, cross-reference with what you are seeing at your own workplace, and treat it as one input — not the final word.
