Audio Editor for Dialogue / Audio Post-Production — Freelance AI Trainer Project
About the role
Meridial (powered by Invisible Technologies) is looking for experienced dialogue editors and audio engineers worldwide to train AI on audio post-production. You’ll use iZotope RX and Avid Pro Tools to diagnose, flag, and edit spoken-word audio to client specs; engage technical AI teams on editing scenarios and theoretical audio engineering questions; and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics. Fast-paced, studio-quality standards. Remote, worldwide, $15–$30/hr.
What you'll do
- Diagnose, flag, and edit spoken-word audio using iZotope RX and Avid Pro Tools; deliver clean, natural-sounding, intelligible dialogue to required specifications across diverse client projects
- Engage technical AI teams on dialogue editing scenarios, theoretical audio engineering questions, and creative logic; provide structured feedback on prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
- Communicate flags, discoveries, and qualitative/quantitative audio statistics to the team; operate with high accuracy in a fast-paced, low-error-tolerance environment
- Identify critical audio issues: room tone inconsistencies, mic changes, phase issues, plosives, sibilance, clipping, formant damage, intelligibility loss, over-processing artifacts, and noise masking
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of professional dialogue editing experience in audiobook, podcast, spoken-word, or sound post-production; a bachelor’s or master’s in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or Acoustics is ideal
- Strong hands-on proficiency with iZotope RX (standalone and plugin workflows) and Avid Pro Tools; familiarity with spoken-word loudness standards such as Audible/ACX targets
- Studio-level listening and monitoring environment; ability to differentiate between performance and technical issues; in-depth knowledge of spectrograms and signal flow
- Excellent critical listening skills and ability to make defensible processing choices; strong time management, collaboration skills, and ability to take direction from supervisors under deadline
