Tagalog Language Specialist — Freelance AI Trainer Project
About the role
Tagalog Language Specialists work as AI trainers for Meridial's expert marketplace, challenging large language models on Tagalog grammar, syntax, morphology, phonology, and pragmatics. You'll converse with AI on complex language scenarios, verify factual accuracy and logical soundness, document reproducible error traces, and improve prompt engineering and evaluation metrics to strengthen Tagalog-language AI capabilities.
What you'll do
- Challenge advanced AI language models on Tagalog grammar, syntax, morphology, spelling, phonology, and pragmatics
- Evaluate model performance on verb focus and aspect, sentence structure, enclitics, formal and informal registers, and regional dialect nuances
- Document reproducible failure modes and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics
- Converse with AI across complex language scenarios and verify factual accuracy and logical soundness
Requirements
- Master's or PhD in Tagalog language, linguistics, or a closely related field is ideal
- Deep expertise in Tagalog grammar, syntax, morphology, and the Tagalog writing system
- Experience in peer-reviewed research, teaching, or hands-on linguistic analysis is a strong plus
- Clear, metacognitive communication — ability to 'show your work' in analysis and feedback
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and secure computer
