Full-Stack .Net & SharePoint Developer
About the role
We are hiring a Full Stack .NET & SharePoint Developer to work directly alongside the founder and lead consultant across a mixture of client and internal development projects. The immediate focus of the role will be supporting a major SharePoint intranet build, working across discovery, development, testing, implementation, and ongoing enhancements. The project will involve multiple departments, templates, content structures, and SharePoint components, so we are looking for someone who already understands the SharePoint ecosystem and can comfortably navigate its core concepts and architecture. As the SharePoint project moves through different stages of discovery, approval, and implementation, there will naturally be periods where development activity slows. During these periods, the developer will switch across to other projects within the business, including .NET-based product development and potentially Sitefinity projects. The broader development stack includes .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, MVC, Blazor, Razor, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This role does not require someone with extremely deep expertise in every technology listed. Instead, we are looking for a well-rounded developer with solid .NET experience, practical SharePoint knowledge, and the ability to adapt between different types of development work. Prior Sitefinity experience is helpful but not required, as support and cross-training can be provided. The right candidate will be a proactive problem solver, an honest communicator, and someone who takes pride in delivering reliable, maintainable work.
What you'll do
- Support the development of a large-scale SharePoint intranet, including its underlying structure, templates, content types, libraries, sites, and web parts.
- Develop and test SharePoint functionality within a development environment before changes are reviewed and deployed into the client’s live environment.
- Write, understand, and work with PowerShell scripts used to support SharePoint development and administration.
- Work with SharePoint concepts including Term Store, Content Types, Libraries, Sites, Web Parts, and related functionality.
- Develop applications and functionality using .NET, C#, ASP.NET Core, MVC, Blazor, Razor, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Move between SharePoint development and other .NET-based projects depending on project priorities and client timelines.
- Potentially support Sitefinity CMS projects, including templates, widgets, components, content presentation, and related development work.
- Convert business and technical requirements into clean, maintainable code.
- Troubleshoot development, integration, rendering, configuration, and application issues.
- Collaborate closely with the project lead throughout discovery, planning, development, and testing.
- Estimate work, identify potential risks, and communicate blockers early.
- Document technical decisions, implementation details, scripts, and handover notes where appropriate.
- Follow established development standards and client-specific processes.
Requirements
- Minimum 4–5 years of professional software development experience.
- Strong experience with .NET and C#.
- Professional experience working with SharePoint.
- Good understanding of the SharePoint ecosystem and common concepts such as:
- Term Store
- Content Types
- Libraries
- Sites
- Web Parts
- Experience with PowerShell, ideally within a SharePoint or Microsoft environment.
- ASP.NET Core MVC and/or Razor experience.
- Experience with HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
- Experience building and maintaining modern web applications.
- Git-based source control.
- Visual Studio or a comparable .NET development environment.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to understand an existing technical environment and become productive without requiring extensive hand-holding.
