Java Coding Specialist — Freelance AI Trainer Project
About the role
Meridial (powered by Invisible Technologies) is seeking Java specialists worldwide to evaluate and improve AI models on Java software engineering. You’ll assess AI-generated Java solutions for correctness, production quality, and reasoning soundness — across OOP design, concurrency, JVM internals, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture — documenting where model logic breaks down and why. Remote, worldwide-open. $45/hr flat rate after passing a preliminary Java technical assessment.
What you'll do
- Review Java problems and AI-generated solutions; judge whether code is correct, well-reasoned, and production-quality — whether it handles edge cases, reflects sound design, and holds up under scrutiny, not just whether it runs
- Challenge AI across Java engineering topics: object-oriented design, concurrency, JVM internals, data structures, algorithms, system architecture, and distributed systems
- Clearly articulate why a solution is wrong or weak — explain the root cause of reasoning failures, not just identify that a failure occurred
- Flag whether problems are well-specified and appropriately challenging; suggest improvements to prompts and evaluation criteria
Requirements
- Deep fluency in Java: object-oriented design, concurrency, JVM internals, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture
- CS/SE degree strongly signals fit; real-world Java engineering experience, competitive programming, open-source contributions, or technical writing also qualifies
- Ability to explain precisely why a solution is wrong or weak, with clear and reproducible reasoning — technical depth paired with structured communication
- Must pass a preliminary Java-focused technical assessment to begin work
