LaTeX Specialist (Fluent in Tagalog) — Freelance AI Trainer Project
About the role
Meridial (powered by Invisible Technologies) is looking for LaTeX specialists in the Philippines with Tagalog fluency to train AI on academic and scientific document preparation. You’ll challenge AI models on complex equation formatting, multi-language document support, Beamer presentations, TikZ graphics, package troubleshooting, and bibliographic management — verifying formatting accuracy, documenting every failure mode, and helping build AI that genuinely understands scientific typesetting. Remote from the Philippines, $8–$65/hr. Tagalog fluency required.
What you'll do
- Challenge AI models on LaTeX document typesetting scenarios: complex mathematical equations, multi-language formatting, Beamer presentation structures, TikZ graphics, package customization, and cross-referencing and bibliographic management
- Verify formatting accuracy and logical consistency of AI outputs on LaTeX tasks; document every failure mode and capture reproducible error traces to improve model reasoning
- Engage the model on Tagalog-language LaTeX documents and multi-language scientific communication scenarios, clarifying nuances that affect typesetting quality
- Suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics based on your experience with academic publishing, technical writing, or scientific communication
Requirements
- Expertise in LaTeX: document typesetting, mathematical formatting, bibliographic management, template development, and package troubleshooting
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field; professional experience in academic publishing, technical writing, or scientific communication strongly signals fit
- Fluency in Tagalog is required — ability to work on Tagalog-language academic and technical content and assess multilingual document support
- Clear, metacognitive communication — ability to ‘show your work’ and explain document formatting reasoning precisely
