Mechanical Engineering Specialist — Freelance AI Trainer Project
About the role
Meridial (powered by Invisible Technologies) is looking for mechanical engineering experts in the Philippines to train AI on engineering knowledge. You’ll challenge advanced AI models on thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, dynamics and vibrations, solid mechanics, control systems, finite element analysis, and mechanical design — including stress-strain analysis, HVAC systems, machine kinematics, materials selection, energy systems, and computational simulations. Remote from the Philippines, $8–$65/hr.
What you'll do
- Challenge AI models on thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat transfer, dynamics, vibrations, solid mechanics, control systems, and finite element analysis; verify factual accuracy and logical soundness across engineering scenarios
- Document AI failure modes on mechanical engineering topics: stress-strain analysis, HVAC, machine kinematics, materials selection, energy systems, manufacturing processes, and computational simulations
- Capture reproducible error traces and suggest improvements to prompt engineering and evaluation metrics for mechanical engineering AI tasks
- Articulate mechanical engineering reasoning step-by-step — show your work, explain problem-solving approaches, and document error patterns precisely
Requirements
- Deep expertise in mechanical engineering; a PhD in mechanical engineering or closely related field is ideal
- Peer-reviewed publications, CAD/CAE project experience, system design work, or applied research in mechanical systems signal strong fit
- Clear, metacognitive communication — ability to explain mechanical engineering reasoning systematically; experience in AI evaluation or technical annotation is a plus
