AI Data Scientist / Statistician — Philippines
About the role
QED.ai is hiring a Statistician / Data Scientist based in the Philippines to support AI and data science projects across its international development portfolio. The role applies statistical modeling and machine learning to real-world health, agriculture, and education programs in emerging markets, working alongside global teams and partners including the CDC, WHO, Gates Foundation, and USAID. Remote, Philippines-based, with occasional international travel.
What you'll do
- Apply statistical analysis and machine learning to health, agriculture, and education projects across emerging markets
- Design and implement data pipelines, models, and evaluation frameworks for field-deployed AI tools
- Collaborate with international partner organizations (WHO, CDC, Gates Foundation, USAID) on mission-critical data programs
- Translate complex data findings into actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders and field teams
- Contribute to QED.ai’s suite of AI products including ScanForm, Maps, and ScanSpectrum
Requirements
- Strong background in statistics, mathematics, data science, or a related quantitative field
- Proficiency in Python or R for data analysis and statistical modeling
- Experience with machine learning methods (classification, regression, clustering, time series)
- Genuine interest in international development and using data for social impact
- Ability to work independently across time zones in a distributed team environment
