SWE Infrastructure Specialist (Java) — Freelance AI Trainer Project
About the role
Meridial (powered by Invisible Technologies) is seeking senior Java infrastructure engineers worldwide to train AI on large-scale software systems and cloud architecture. You’ll challenge AI models on JVM-based service design, distributed systems, cloud-native deployments, and enterprise architectures — verifying decisions on concurrency, latency, throughput, and resource utilization, documenting where models misreason about system correctness or scalability. Remote, worldwide-open, $80–$150/hr.
What you'll do
- Engage AI models on complex Java infrastructure scenarios: JVM-based service design, distributed systems, cloud-native deployments, and enterprise-grade architectures — testing reasoning about correctness, scalability, and operational behavior
- Verify architectural decisions related to concurrency, latency, throughput, and resource utilization; assess infrastructure and application-level testing strategies
- Analyze deployment and reliability risks; capture reproducible failure modes where AI misreasons about system correctness or operational behavior
- Provide structured feedback to improve model evaluation and reasoning frameworks for infrastructure and platform engineering domains
Requirements
- Strong enterprise Java background: JVM systems, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, platform engineering, or SRE/DevOps-adjacent work — hands-on experience with concurrency, performance engineering, and large-scale architectural design
- Experience with cloud-native deployments, enterprise Java frameworks, or SRE practices; CS/SE degree preferred
- Clear written communication and ability to explain system behavior, architectural tradeoffs, and design decisions precisely and reproducibly
