Project Cursa - Robot Manipulation Video Annotator
About the role
Welo Data is hiring annotators in the Philippines to label robot manipulation videos used to train robotics AI models. You watch short clips filmed from three synchronized camera angles and write precise, structured natural-language descriptions of each action. The work is freelance, remote, and follows a detailed style guide.
What you'll do
- Watch short robot manipulation videos filmed from three synchronized camera views (overhead plus two wrist-mounted cameras).
- Break each video into time segments and write clear natural-language descriptions for each segment.
- Apply labels at atomic-motion, skill/subtask, and task/goal levels so every moment of video is covered.
- Describe exactly what happens, including failed grasps or dropped objects; precision matters more than making the robot look successful.
- Cross-reference all three camera angles and follow the project's style guide for actions, spatial relationships, and object descriptions.
- Participate in periodic calibration sessions to align labeling with the team and client reference examples.
Requirements
- Strong written English — you will write dozens of short, precise descriptive sentences per video and need to vary your language.
- Sharp attention to detail, including small differences such as a successful grasp versus a fumble.
- Comfort following a detailed, structured style guide consistently, including in ambiguous or edge-case scenarios.
- Basic comfort with spatial and mechanical description (left/right, above/below, object parts such as handles, lids, or edges).
- Reliable, self-directed work habits; this is often heads-down work with periodic check-ins.
- Prior video annotation, data labeling, transcription, or QA experience is nice to have, not required.
- Familiarity with robotics terminology or tools such as Label Studio is helpful but not necessary.
