Applied Research Scientist - Runway ML
About the role
Conduct applied research on Runway's foundation models for generative video, image, and multi-modal content. You'll work at the intersection of research and product — designing novel architectures, running large-scale experiments, and deploying research breakthroughs directly into Runway's state-of-the-art generation models.
What you'll do
- Design and run experiments advancing Runway's generative video and multi-modal foundation models
- Develop novel architectures and training methods for large-scale diffusion and transformer models
- Collaborate with engineering to bring research breakthroughs from prototype to production deployment
- Contribute to Runway's research publications and intellectual property in generative AI
Requirements
- PhD or equivalent research experience in machine learning, deep learning, or computer vision
- Strong publication record or demonstrated research impact in generative models, diffusion, or related areas
- Hands-on experience training large-scale models on GPU clusters (PyTorch, JAX)
- Ability to operate at the research-to-engineering boundary and ship research into production
