Backend Engineer (Recommendation) – AI/LLM
About the role
Binance's Home, Market & Dashboard team is hiring a Senior Java Spring Engineer to build production LLM systems and recommendation backends that power the core user experience across 300M+ users. You will design high-performance Java Spring Boot microservices, build end-to-end LLM pipelines from data to production, optimize LLM workloads in on-prem environments, and develop AI-powered recommendation features for Binance's global trading platform. Note: Bilingual English/Mandarin proficiency is a hard requirement for this role.
What you'll do
- Design, develop, and maintain backend Java services and APIs for Binance's Home, Market & Dashboard platform serving 300M+ users
- Build production LLM systems to power business recommendation functions, from data pipeline to deployment, with emphasis on automation and reproducibility
- Optimize and support LLM workloads in on-prem environments including performance tuning and infrastructure optimization
- Implement high-performance, highly available backend systems to support trading and financial data services
- Collaborate with product managers and cross-timezone teams to own end-to-end system architecture for AI-powered features
Requirements
- Bilingual English/Mandarin is required — must be able to coordinate with overseas partners and stakeholders
- 5+ years of software development experience with strong Java and Spring Boot expertise
- Proven experience with recommendation algorithms and large language models (LLMs) — key requirement
- Experience in LLM-related architecture design, code development, and performance tuning
- Experience with databases (SQL/NoSQL), messaging systems (Kafka/RabbitMQ), and microservices architecture
