AI/ML Tech Lead, Feed Personalization — Quora
About the role
Lead the ML engineering effort for Quora's personalized home feed — the primary surface driving daily active use for hundreds of millions of users. You'll set technical direction, mentor engineers, and ship models that meaningfully improve feed relevance, diversity, and engagement through experimentation and scalable system design.
What you'll do
- Set technical strategy and lead a team of ML engineers building Quora's feed personalization systems
- Design and ship end-to-end ML pipelines — from data collection and feature engineering through model training, evaluation, and serving
- Drive high-impact experimentation programs measuring feed quality through rigorous A/B testing
- Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar across ML modeling, infrastructure, and experiment design
Requirements
- 6+ years of ML engineering with 2+ years leading technical work or a team
- Deep expertise in personalization, recommendation systems, or content feed ranking
- Track record of driving measurable metric improvements on high-traffic, real-time systems
- Strong communication skills — able to align stakeholders and drive cross-functional projects
