Data & AI Portfolio Manager
About the role
The Data and AI Portfolio Manager turns enterprise priorities into a controlled delivery program. The role owns demand intake, prioritization, roadmap, resourcing, and benefit tracking from business case through production adoption.
What you'll do
- Operate demand intake for Data and AI work and maintain the enterprise backlog.
- Prioritize work using business value, data readiness, feasibility, strategic importance, and named benefit ownership.
- Publish the Data and AI roadmap and manage trade-offs when demand exceeds capacity.
- Coordinate delivery across business, data engineering, BI, data science, AI engineering, infrastructure, and security.
- Require a path to production, named owners, a support model, and a retirement condition before a prototype is treated as done.
- Track realized benefit after implementation and recommend continuation, scale-up, or retirement.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Five or more years in project, programme, or portfolio management.
- At least two years managing data, analytics, AI, or enterprise systems delivery.
- Experience running prioritization and benefit tracking across competing stakeholders.
- Working understanding of the data and AI delivery lifecycle, including model and application lifecycle requirements.
