Research Engineer (AI Audio / TTS)
About the role
ElevenLabs is hiring a Research Engineer to work on the ML systems behind its flagship text-to-speech models. You'll build and maintain robust data management pipelines for TTS training data, design automated processes for training, evaluating, and deploying speech models, and investigate cutting-edge approaches in deep learning and ML algorithms specific to audio generation. The role is fully remote and can be executed from anywhere globally, including the Philippines.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain reliable, scalable data management pipelines for text-to-speech training, including versioning and quality guidelines
- Design and implement automated processes for training, evaluating, and launching TTS models, including fine-tuning and validation data routines
- Investigate state-of-the-art approaches in machine learning, deep learning, and algorithms specific to text-to-speech technology
- Conduct exploratory research to improve the quality of audio and TTS training data
- Collaborate with the research team to translate novel ideas into production-ready ML systems
Requirements
- 3+ years of industry experience as a Machine Learning Engineer with a focus on building data pipelines and implementing ML models
- Demonstrated ability to autonomously evaluate novel concepts and improve existing ML projects
- Extensive experience in exploratory research for audio or text-to-speech domains
- Strong software engineering fundamentals; Python proficiency required
- Portfolio of past projects, GitHub contributions, or published works demonstrating ML expertise (no formal degree required)
