Algorithmic Software Engineer (Cognitive AI)
About the role
We’re looking for an Algorithmic Software Engineer (Cognitive AI) who thrives on deep technical challenges and wants to build something genuinely novel. In this role, you’ll work on the company’s core engine, translating complex ideas into elegant, high-performance systems. You’ll collaborate closely with senior engineers and cognitive-side collaborators to solve difficult problems at the algorithm and systems level. What you'll do
- Design and implement core algorithmic functionality for a next-generation cognitive AI engine.
- Turn specifications and test cases into efficient, scalable, and reliable backend systems.
- Collaborate closely with senior engineers and cross-functional teammates in a fast, iterative development environment.
- Contribute across implementation, optimization, debugging, and code cleanup.
- Take on a mix of clearly defined work and open-ended technical challenges that require initiative and strong problem-solving.
Requirements
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience.
- Proven strength in algorithm design, development, optimization, and debugging complex systems.
- Strong systems-thinking ability and a track record of solving technically demanding problems.
- Proficiency in C# / .NET Core, or the ability to ramp up quickly.
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working in a distributed, English-speaking environment.
- A proactive, builder-minded approach — you take ownership and move things forward.
- Comfort working in a fast-moving, highly iterative environment where ambiguity is part of the process.
